The Democracy and Education Learning Futures Collaborative brings together researchers, educators, students, families, and school board leaders to advance democratic innovation in K-12 education. The Democracy and Education Learning Futures Collaborative explores and engages new possibilities for democratic engagement through student voice, educator agency, and participatory school governance in building more inclusive, equitable, and civically vibrant school communities across Arizona and the United States. The Democracy and Education engages local school communities, school governance organization, and researchers in the co-design of democratic practices and innovations that reflect school community priorities and cultural strengths. At the same time, this LFC draws from national and global networks advancing youth voice, teacher agency and participatory governance to contextualize and amplify this work.
